Summer Rising 2025 is here, offering a free summer program that promises adventure and learning for all students in grades K–8 during the 2024–25 school year.

Who Can Apply?
All City students in grades K–8, including multilingual learners, immigrant students , and students with disabilities , are eligible to apply.
Program Details –
Summer Rising runs from:
- July 2 through August 15 for students in grades K–5
- July 2 through August 8 for students in grades 6–8
This program is a partnership between the New York City Public Schools (NYCPS) and the Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD), focusing on supporting students' academic learning while providing enriching experiences. Participants will enjoy field trips, art activities, outdoor recreation, and more, along with free and nutritious breakfast and lunch for all students.
How to Apply to Summer Rising 2025
1. Visit MySchools.nyc and add your child to your account. - If you already have a MySchools account, just log in! - To create one, go to MySchools.nyc and click on “Create New Account.” Provide the required information. - To add your child, enter their 9-digit student ID number and MySchools account creation code (available from your child’s school).
2. Add programs to your child’s application. Include all programs of interest to maximize your child’s chances of receiving an offer. Only list programs you genuinely wish for your child to attend, ranking them in your true preference order.
3. Submit your application. The admissions process is not first-come, first-served. You can apply any time before Friday, March 28 at 11:59 PM; all applications will be treated equally. After submitting, you will receive an email confirmation. Offers will be released in April. If your child receives an offer, be sure to accept it!
