Technology Class

Dear Families and Students,

Technology is integrated into all aspects of the curriculum at the Children’s Lab School as we prepare for the students’ future education and careers. Today’s students must be prepared to thrive in a constantly changing technological landscape. In technology class we are working to empower student to find their voice and ensure that their learning is a student-driven process. Students develop critical and computational thinking skills when they learn not only to acquire information but think analytically and communicate ideas that they develop based on that information.

Students at the Children’s Lab School learn many skills and programs in technology class all working towards developing students who are:

  • empowered learners, who use technology to take an active role in choosing, achieving, and demonstrating that they are completing their learning goals, informed by the learning sciences.
  • digital citizens, who recognize the rights, responsibilities and opportunities of living, learning and working in a digital world, and they act and model in ways that are safe, legal and ethical.
  • knowledge constructors, who critically use a variety of digital tools to learn and make meaningful experiences for themselves and others.
  • innovative designers, who use a variety of technologies to identify and solve problems by creating new, useful and creative solutions.

If you have any questions about our technology program, your child’s Google Classroom account (@nycstudents.net), your NYC Schools account, or your Remind account please reach out to me via email or text me.
